Concepts we will Cover
- Breath as a regulator - The connection between the breath and the nervous system
- Power of the pause/rest - how we recalibrate in the moments of rest after movement. Finding assessment of sensation.
- Challenging the body - good stress - what this means in our practice
- The importance of neuroplasticity - why creating new neural pathways with movement is not only good for the body but crucial for the brain.
Why should you enhance your connection with your nervous system?
In the realm of movement and asana, it's natural to focus on muscles and bones, shaping our bodies into various forms. However, the true essence of this practice lies in our profound dialogue with the nervous system. Every action we take, consciously or not, is processed through this intricate network. By understanding the mechanics of the nervous system within our practice—embracing the breath, and navigating shapes—we have the power to revolutionize our entire experience.
Often, asana and movement practices can be influenced by external factors. We ask ourselves, "How does it look?" or "Is my alignment correct?" While these considerations aren't inherently wrong, the path to an embodied movement and asana practice lies in awakening our felt sense. Through this, poses, shapes, and transitions become vehicles for an extraordinary sensory journey.
The magic truly unfolds when we take this awareness beyond the mat and into our daily lives. We become finely attuned to the felt sense of all our interactions. By learning to recalibrate on the mat, we gain the tools to navigate challenging situations and make decisions from a place of deep intuition. We learn to identify resistance and openness within ourselves, creating space for growth and transformation.

Register NowHi, I'm Julie
I'm here to invite you into a practice that embraces your individuality and curiosity. An EMBODIED Yoga based on a sensory experience, free from outdated dogma and limited linear structures.
Raised as a Vedantist, I grew up immersed in the philosophy of yoga. In my 20's I began to practice asana and research different ways of moving while studying the history of yoga. The resulting discovery is that yoga is EVOLVING and always has, so we have permission to explore these practices, challenge the myths, and move forward with knowledge and awareness.
My mission is to EMPOWER your practice. To help find your own pace, fluidity, and strength in a structure that is an invitation, not a rule. Tap into your curiosity and trust your experience to take charge of your practice on and off the mat.
