Brahmani Yoga Excellence & Empowerment Programme
A Level 2 Teacher Training in Embodied Yoga
12 MONTHS | ONLINE & IN PERSON
This is a course like no other. Combining years of experience, research and skill, with a fully supportive online learning platform, this programme is the new evolution of Brahmani Yoga's inspiring teacher trainings.
Being a teacher comes with great responsibility. As a teacher you have a role to play to empower and inspire your students on the path to yoga. Do you want to teach from a place of guidance, questioning and inciting curiosity in your students as well as encouraging them to find their own exploration beyond rigid structures?
THIS IS THE PATH OF EMBODIED YOGA
It doesn’t stop at the mat. It doesn’t stop at the skin. It guides people to discover their inherent intelligence and gives permission to find growth and evolution in all aspects of life. Embodied yoga isn’t about shapes, or contortion, or ‘rights’ and ‘wrongs’. It’s a path to freedom and is anchored in empowerment.”
If this sounds like the kind of teacher you want to be and you are ready to embrace excellence and empowerment then keep reading!
A powerful teaching which allows our being to reveal itself in its uniqueness, to feel in connection between its body and its spirit. A training where the strength is us. A training that reconnects us to our freedom to think, to move and to our inner voice. The teaching of Julie Martin is of rare subtlety with great intelligence and delicacy. I recommend and cannot thank her enough for what she gives.

Julie Martin is one of the best teachers I've ever had in my life. She is the kind of person that appealed to me instantly with her great humour, clarity and passion. Julie opened up to me different way's of moving and teaching yoga. Everything became more fun! She has inspired me so much that I decided to do my Level 2 training with her and the wonderful Emil Wendel at Brahmani Yoga. I am extremely grateful for the time I had with these amazing teachers.

About Brahmani Yoga Teacher Trainings
As well as deepening your personal understanding, Julie holds great importance on interaction and feedback of information. You will be presenting and voicing your own experiences, telling your own stories and learning from them throughout the programme. Participants will learn to integrate skills and knowledge and make it applicable for teaching and personal growth.
At Brahmani Yoga you will never learn a script or be told to teach only a certain type of sequence or asana style. Julie and all the Brahmani team provide skills to equip you for the creative process as a teacher. Our ‘philosophical unfolding’ and ‘anatomical myth busting’ classes stand in equal measure with the movement work. Yoga is about bringing wholeness to life - to be lived and to be present and to share that with others in a professional and open way.
Pardon the pun, but there are no “sacred cows” in the Brahmani school. Our motto is “Question everything”. Remain curious and know that there are no ultimate rights or wrongs.
Everyone is different, each body is different, every story is different. The true Tantric lineage of yoga should be embraced and enhanced instead of asked to conform to something that isn’t suitable. Our students are encouraged to remain in dialogue with the information. Julie and the team will not preach but will encourage and inform without bias. We’re also interested in the evolution of our training. Many students return to attend courses a few times to remain updated and gain new inspiration.
Above all we bring you quality. Each aspect is thought through to ensure that when you finish the training not only will you have new information and new tools to draw from, you’ll be excited and inspired to teach, to practice, to move into life with an open mind and heart.
Meet Your Teachers
Julie Martin
Lead Teacher & Programme Director
Raised as a Vedantist, Julie grew up immersed in the philosophy of yoga. As a young adult, she turned to the asana practice to heal from an injury. That was 25 years ago. When yoga began to injure her, she did her research and integrated insights about anatomy, natural movement, range of motion, and integrated stability into her practice and teaching. The result is unorthodox, inventive yoga that moves with the body, not against it.
She teaches yogis around the world to break free from a limited linear practice and outdated dogmas and embrace an embodied Yoga practice based on a sensory experience - how it feels, not what it looks like. She has a reputation for challenging asana myths that hurt and exclude people. She empowers students and teachers alike to own their practice, tap into their curiosity, and trust their own experience.

Julie gives me not only confidence to explore my own relationship to yoga and movement but also the courage to be unconventional, break free of shapes and the total focus on alignment. Everything in the world changes and why should not Yoga so Julie inspires me to evolve by her bringing in the latest science in anatomy, movement and other non yoga styles like animal movement, martial arts and 3D training and more.
"
Deb Richards
I attended Julie's month long TTC in Goa a couple of years ago and it was amongst the best trainings I've done. Julie is so vibrant, amusing and keen to pass on her knowledge in a really accessible way, but she's not a push over - she said right at the beginning of the month words to the effect of 'I'm not here to be your friend so if I need to pull you up, I will' - however, along with that there is a huge width to experiment with, which was exactly what you need in a teacher. Someone to really help you to understand and not just gloss over but who encourages you to 'be curious'. As with her classes, she builds your knowledge layer by layer. One of my students actually said to me not so long ago how much my teaching had matured from a 3/4 years previously. I put that down to the Lovely Julie Martin and her equally smashing team.
What does it mean to be a modern yoga teacher?
The world of embodiment has grown considerably throughout the last few years, and while many teachers are looking to now upgrade their approach it entails a vast set of skills that very few trainings address. The Excellence and Empowerment course answers the question: What does it mean to be a modern yoga teacher? The world has changed. How we teach and practice yoga is in constant flux. But our work as teachers is to guide our students back to their sense of self, to be in the body without judgement or expectation. We must use conscious leadership to hand the power back to the student who is ultimately in charge of their body, mind and emotions.
Inspiring Yoga Teachers for 18 Years
Julie Martin, Founder and Director of Brahmani Yoga, has been inspiring and empowering yoga teachers throughout the world for over 18 years. From the very beginning, Brahmani Yoga training programmes have gone beyond the industry standards and created courses that make a difference. As life evolves so does yoga and our understanding of how it meets the modern practitioner. This evolution, research and continual passion to empower people has been the driving force behind refining and developing the structures and content of all Brahmani trainings.
